Overview
The Design Mechanics are recruiting a website coder to work alongside the graphic design team to build client's websites. We produce over 100 websites a year and the role encompasses taking the approved PSD and building this into a fully working site, installing our CMS system and developing occasional bespoke functionality. The role also includes day-to-day updates and maintenance of our 500+ already hosted sites.
Our sites are built utilising customised WordPress technology and we do not use animation or Flash.
Skills required
- Excellent knowledge of HTML and CSS to W3C standards.
- Experience of working with WordPress.
- An understanding of web-hosting and domain names.
- A basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, in order to work from the design files the graphic design team produce.
- Experience of integrating PHP and MySQL into a website an advantage.
- Knowledge of Magento e-commerce software also an advantage.
