Could you run your own Design Mechanics franchise?
We are very proud of the service we deliver, and the systems we have developed to deliver them. Over the past five years we have proven our business model with over 1,000 clients in the West Yorkshire area and a business model that is completely unique in our industry.
You can benefit from our knowledge and experience by becoming a Design Mechanics franchisee. The franchise is a sales and service franchise, meaning you don't have to have a background in the design industry to run a Design Mechanics business.
We handle all the design, printing, website building and delivery, leaving you free to bring The Design Mechanics to a new geographical area and develop your own client base as your own business.
We currently have franchise regions available across the UK, including a number of pre-developed franchise areas in West Yorkshire.

The Design Mechanics bring together a high-turnover, price-led approach with a high-quality end product. We have been able to do this predominately by reducing the amount of time and administration the graphic process takes.
We lead the client through a structured briefing and proofing system that means we get the design right (or extremely close!) almost 100% of the time, first time.
By doing this we have reduced the amount of time both the client and company have to spend getting to a finished product. The client is lead through the process by a sales person / consultant who is not a graphic designer; in fact the client never meets the design team.
We offer two main routes to buying a Design Mechanics franchise:
Route 1: Full Franchise
£5k plus VAT franchise fee (based on a previously undeveloped area)
You can apply to buy a full Design Mechanics franchise for an initial fee of £5k (based on a previously undeveloped area) which gives you full ownership immediately.
Under this model you retain 25% of all your gross sales as your profit from day one.
You are responsible for sourcing an office location and fitting out your own meeting room to our listed specifications.
Route 2: Lease to Franchise
No initial franchise fee, £1k PCM wage with an option to buy at six months
You can apply to lease a Design Mechanics franchise with no initial franchise fee. During your lease period we pay you an expenses wage of either £1k PCM, or 10% of your sales (whichever is higher) after your first month.
You then have the option to buy the franchise with two payments of £7.5k at six and twelve months. If you do not wish to buy the franchise outright you can continue to lease at the 10% agreement.

Our innovative lease-to-franchise option gives you the opportunity to start your business straight away with the option to buy the franchise out-right over time.
We are continuing to invest in our system and procedures, with £100,000 in external investment being brought into the company in 2011 to the £112,000 the company will have already self-invested.
